Overview
Liberty Disposal, Inc. is committed to controlling costs so we can continue to provide you with the best overall value in waste and recycling services. However, fuel prices and environmentally related compliance costs are something we cannot fully control. The Fuel Surcharge, Environmental Fee and Administrative Fees are meant to help us cover these costs. This allows us to make a reasonable and fair return and continue to invest in the services we provide you.
Fuel Surcharge
Liberty Disposal, Inc. has a Fuel Surcharge that is tied directly to the national average price of diesel fuel as reported monthly by the Energy Information Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy (“EIA/DOE”) in its Monthly Retail On-Highway Diesel Prices Index. This index is objective, publicly available and widely recognized in the trucking, waste and transportation industries. This will ensure that you, our valued customer, will pay a Fuel Surcharge that is currently adjusted, easy to calculate, and equitable to you and the Company.
The table attached shows what the Fuel Surcharge would be based upon the national average price of diesel as reported by the EIA/DOE for a given month. For example, if the reported monthly EIA/DOE national average diesel price is $ 2.50 per gallon, your fuel surcharge would be 15%. To see chart of fuel surcharge Click Here.

The amount or percentage of the environmental component is not specifically tied to the direct or indirect costs to service your account, but to the Company’s overall costs. We don’t simply haul freight. We must train staff on environmental protection, personal protection and comply with ever increasing regulations that protect our environment of the communities we are proud to be a part of.
